This month, my reading goals are to finish the books I have either half-read or kept talking about reading and still haven’t got round to!
The WWW Wednesday challenge is hosted at Taking on a World of Words, and very simply involves answering three questions about your reading.
What are you currently reading?

The Unbroken – C. L. Clark
Synopsis: Touraine is a soldier. Stolen as a child and raised to kill and die for the empire, her only loyalty is to her fellow conscripts. But now, her company has been sent back to her homeland to stop a rebellion, and the ties of blood may be stronger than she thought. Luca needs a turncoat. Someone desperate enough to tiptoe the bayonet’s edge between treason and orders. Someone who can sway the rebels toward peace, while Luca focuses on what really matters: getting her uncle off her throne.
Through assassinations and massacres, in bedrooms and war rooms, Touraine and Luca will haggle over the price of a nation. But some things aren’t for sale.
I won’t get into this book too much, as I’m planning to write a review, but I am hesitantly enjoying it so far. I’m pretty much exactly halfway through, and have reached a pause in my reading because I’m not looking forward to the MC realising the consequences of her actions and everyone having a bad time all around. Otherwise, though, it’s a very readable book, and I’m curious to continue doing so.
What have you recently finished?

The Last Graduate – Naomi Novik
Synopsis: The dark school of magic has always done its best to devour its students, but now that El has reached her final year – and somehow won herself a handful of allies along the way – it’s suddenly developed a very particular craving … For her.
You can read my mini review for my full thoughts on this. I didn’t realise this was the last book I finished! Although I could understand why, considering how it ends.
What are you going to read next?

Harrow the Ninth – Tamsin Muir
Synopsis (for book 1): The Emperor needs necromancers. The Ninth Necromancer needs a swordswoman. Gideon has a sword, some dirty magazines, and no more time for undead bullshit.
Indeed, the thing on my TBR for my next read is the same as it was last month. I actually keep forgetting that I want to read this book. Oddly, I find myself doing that all the time when it comes to sequels I’d anticipated.
What books are you currently reading?

I am really looking forward to The Unbroken. I know that it deals a lot with colonization, so not light and fun.

Absolutely isn’t. I honestly had to put the book down at several points. But it is also SO worth the read, excellently written
